Dont You Know I Love the Way That Im Turning

Motion picture this: Y'all've orchestrated the perfect at-abode engagement for your significant other, featuring candles, wine, and a lovingly dwelling house-cooked (or lovingly ordered via app) dinner. But just as your person texts you that they're on their way, you lot realize that you have no idea what sort of music to play to retain the romantic ambient. Later on all, you can't have your early 2000s guilty pleasure songs come up up on shuffle while you're trying to stare lovingly into your partner's eyes (aught ruins the mood like the distinctive "youuuuuu" at the beginning of "Soulja Boy." And yes, that example is based on a true story).

Anyhow, I've got y'all covered with my list of the virtually cute, hopeful, and achingly romantic songs ever written (in my apprehensive opinion). You'll have your crush/partner/Bumble date swooning.

"ROS" - Mac Miller

Most romantic lyrics: "I'm in your heart, I'm in your dream/ So fuck the world it'southward you and me"

Rationale: When the exterior world becomes brutal, many couples turn in and develop that us-confronting-the-world mindset. In "ROS," Mac Miller captures what it'south like to feel close to someone, spending much of this song describing the little things he loves nearly his partner, like her "stained glass" eyes, butterscotch-scented peel, and kiwi-flavored lips. The lyrics are intimate in every way, and Mac delivers them with his characteristic rawness.

"These Arms of Mine" - Otis Redding

Most romantic lyrics: "These artillery of mine, they are lonely/ Lonely and feeling blue/ These arms of mine, they are yearning/ Yearning from wanting you"

Rationale: This vocal hits me right in the breast. It's impossible non to feel your arms and chest aching similar Reddings' when he sings nigh burning to hold his lover. The music crescendos around his smooth vocalism equally he begs,  "And if you would permit them concord y'all/ Oh, how grateful I would be." It's such a sweetness, hostage plea for dear, and its focus on physicality is pretty sexy, likewise.

"Ex Factor" - Lauryn Loma

Most romantic lyrics: "See, no 1 loves y'all more than me/ and no i ever will"

Rationale: No i knows how to obliterate me emotionally quite like Lauryn Hill does. In "Ex Factor" (and on this whole anthology, allow's exist real), she'southward vulnerable, baring all her devotion to her beau. Nosotros recognize straightaway that her relationship is toxic, just Hill's honesty is so beautiful that nosotros humble listeners have no choice but to sit down, transfixed, and listen.

"Skinny Love" - Bon Iver

Most romantic lyrics: "Told my love to wreck information technology all/ Cut out all the ropes and let me autumn"

Rationale: When this song came out in 2007, I was in middle school. I could not terminate singing it equally I traipsed through my house, near-tears as I crooned well-nigh "the sink of claret and crushed veneer," equally though my twelve years on earth had been rife with tragic dearest affairs.

Nevertheless, this vocal still holds upwardly. Bon Iver is a master at depicting what it'southward similar to fully surrender yourself to someone while enlightened that they may hurt you in the cease. I even so sing this song while I lounge around my little studio flat, cartoon on real-life experiences this fourth dimension, though I assure yous that none of them involved blood-filled sinks or crushed veneers.

"Leather and Lace" - Stevie Nicks & Don Henley

Most romantic lyrics: "Lovers forever, face to confront/ My metropolis, your mountains/ Stay with me, stay/ I need you to love me/ I need you today/ Give me to me your leather, have from me my lace"

Rationale: This is Stevie Nicks' lyricism at its about poignant. She wrote "Leather and Lace" herself and then performed it with Don Henley (of The Eagles) while they were dating. This duet is beautiful in and of itself, simply their chemistry and passion for each other makes it all the more impactful. An ex played this for me in one case, unprompted, and I call up thinking, My God, dude. Why would you practice this to me?

Wrecked.

The Mode Yous Await Tonight" - Frank Sinatra

Most romantic lyrics: "Lovely, never, never modify/ continue that breathless charm/ won't you please adjust information technology?/ 'Cause I honey you/ Merely the way you look this evening"

Rationale: Ah, yes. The vocal that plays at every nuptials on earth. Popular songs are popular for a reason, though, and this one endures considering of the accepting, unconditional sort of dear that it depicts. In addition to Sinatra's version, I'm too partial to Fred Astaire's rendition in the 1936 film Swing Time and the sugariness yet natural language-in-cheek visuals become forth with information technology.

"Everlasting Light" - The Black Keys

Most romantic lyrics: "Let me be your everlasting calorie-free/ Your train going away from pain/ Love is the coal that makes this train curl/ Allow me exist your everlasting calorie-free"

Rationale: If you lot read the lyrics without the music, the whole vocal sounds kind of like a belatedly nineteenth century verse form. The love in this song is so pure and hopeful, and you'll definitely gain cool-points by playing The Blackness Keys on a first engagement.

"To Know Him Is To Love Him" - Amy Winehouse

Most romantic lyrics: "To know, know, know him/ Is to love, love, love him/ Simply to see that smile/ Makes my life worthwhile"

Rationale: No one does unbridled dear like Amy Winehouse. Her soulful voice takes heart stage in this Phil Spector cover, and if y'all're not already in love, it will make you lot desire to exist.

"Like Existent People Do" - Hozier

Nigh romantic lyrics: "I will not ask y'all where you came from/ I will not ask yous, neither should you/ Dearest, simply put your sweet lips on my lips/ We should just kiss like real people exercise"

Rationale: Hither, Hozier is trying to convince his love interest to forget that they both accept pasts (who doesn't?) and to just love him. At that place's a sense that both people in the song consider themselves odd in some manner (again, who doesn't?), and that they've been searching for partners similar each other for ages. "Like Existent People Do" reminds us of how miraculous information technology feels to love and be loved back.

"Can't Take My Eyes Off Y'all" - Franki Valli & The Four Seasons

Almost romantic lyrics: "You're just too skillful to exist true/ Can't take my eyes off of you/ You lot'd be similar sky to bear upon/ I wanna concur you so much"

Rationale: To quote every Boomer from my dwelling house state of New Jersey: They but don't make 'em similar this anymore. And information technology's true―this vocal manages to balance emotional and sexual yearning without being crude.

And simply... the gratitude Valli feels when he sings about loving his girl and so much that he thanks God he'southward alive. My Lord. They actually just practise non make 'em quite like this anymore.

"Forrest Gump" - Frank Sea

Nearly romantic lyrics: "My fingertips and my lips/ They burn from the cigarettes/ Forrest Gump, you run my mind, boy/ Running on my listen, boy"

Rationale: This is Frank Sea'southward most criminally underrated song and I will fight anyone who has annihilation negative to say virtually it. In fact, I once made a very loud, spirited defence of this vocal when I was in loftier school, correct after Ocean's ill-received performance of it at the 2013 Grammys.

The song is told from the perspective of Jenny in the 1994 motion-picture show Forrest Gump. Information technology'due south about a broken, tired person coming dorsum to their pure, indelible love after a nifty deal of time has passed. Information technology's especially meaningful, in my opinion, because Ocean penned the song in the wake of his very public coming-out.

"Take Me The Way I Am" - Ingrid Michaelson

Most romantic lyrics: "'Crusade I honey you more than than I could ever promise/ And you take me the manner I am"

Rationale: What a throwback! Ingrid Michaelson was responsible for some of the sweetest manic-pixie-dream-daughter love songs of the early 2000s, and this one was her about popular. Michaelson rejoices in having establish a partner who loves her, flaws and all, and she responds in kind, promising to repair what her partner breaks and buy him Rogaine when his hair starts falling out. It'south a hope to love someone forever.

"I'm Not Expressionless" - P!nk

Virtually romantic lyrics: "Right beyond the cigarette and the devilish smile/You're my cleft of sunlight/ You can do the math a thousand means/ But y'all can't erase the facts/ That others come up and others go/ Simply you always come back"

Rationale: This is my favorite era of P!nk'south music. In "I'm Non Expressionless," she writes a frank, unapologetic love song about being a flawed man deeply in honey with some other flawed human. Waxing poetic about her and her boyfriend's (her future husband, Cary Hart, by the mode) tattoos and alluding to her own mental illness, P!nk eschews all tired clichés about dearest in favor of something far more authentic and affecting.

"Hannah Hunt" - Vampire Weekend

Nearly romantic lyrics: "A man of faith said hidden optics could run across what I was thinkin'/ I just smiled and told him/ That was only true of Hannah"

Rationale: Oh, Ezra Koenig, how you lot wound me with your beautiful words! In this vocal, our narrator seems to be moving effectually the U.Due south. with his beloved Hannah until she grows homesick for the east declension. Having lived in New England for around seven years, I'thousand fractional to this song for its "freezing beaches" references, but information technology's also a gentle tribute to the way time glides away when y'all're with someone yous honey.

"A Song For You" - Donny Hathaway

Most romantic lyrics: "I love you lot in a place/ Where there'south no space or fourth dimension/ I love you for my life/ Y'all're a friend of mine/ And when my life is over/ Remember when we were together"

Rationale: There accept been many versions of this song, but this one's my favorite. It was as well Amy Winehouse's favorite. Donny Hathaway sings this with such feeling that one can't help but experience he'southward reciting a memoir when he sings his amends to a woman he neglected to settle down with because he was besides busy performing around the world.

"Maps" - Yeah Yeah Yeahs

Nearly romantic lyrics: "Don't stray/ My kind's your kind/ I'll stay the same."

Rationale: Aye, this vocal is 90 percent just Karen O singing "Await, they don't love you like I love you lot," but it'south so powerful! If you say something the right style, and the accompanying music is good enough, there's no demand to embellish much more. Proof: Beyoncé clearly nods to this song in her 2016 single "Hold Up." "Maps" endures, over a decade later, across genres.

"If I Ain't Got You" - Alicia Keys

Most romantic lyrics: "Some people want diamond rings/ Some just want everything/ But everything means nothing/ If I own't got yous"

Rationale: This vocal is all the more than touching when you recall that she wrote it simply as she was beginning to become famous. She promises that her renown―the fruit of all her labor―along with promises of riches, jewelry, or countless life would all mean naught if she didn't accept her man.

"Pine Tree Lines" - Told Slant

Most romantic lines: "I am the girl my parents made/ Why don't you lot love me anyway/ 'Cause I love the way you take up space"

Rationale: Devastating genius. Lead singer Felix Walworth delivers this song so earnestly that his voice literally cracks during that terminal line. I've never heard a simpler or more startlingly accurate depiction of adoration than loving the way someone takes up space.

"Inevitable" - Shakira

Most romantic lyrics: "To exist fifty-fifty more honest/ No i thinks about you lot/ The way I do" (Translated from Spanish)

Rationale: Shakira spends most of this song laying out all her imperfections―that she doesn't know how to make coffee, that she doesn't understand soccer, that she oversleeps, etc.―and so proceeds to inquire her human to love her anyhow.

"I Constitute You lot" - Alabama Shakes

Nigh romantic lyrics: "I remember all them alone days/ I traveled out on my ain/ Then you brought me everything/ You made my house a home"

Rationale: This is a celebration of finally finding your person. So who better to listen to it with than your person? Romantic, indeed.

"Rag Doll" - Franki Valli & The Four Seasons

Virtually romantic lines: "I'd modify her sad rags/ Into glad rags if I could/ My folks won't let me/ 'Crusade they say that she's no good."

Rationale: Another 4 Seasons song, yeah. I'yard from Jersey. Sue me.

Franki Valli declares his unconditional honey for a girl much poorer than he is, fantasizing about replacing her tattered clothes with lace and finery. In spite of her poverty, he ends the vocal by crying, "I beloved you lot just the way you are."

He wants to give everything to someone who can offering him nothing material. All he wants is her.

"Since I've Been Loving Yous" - Led Zeppelin

Almost romantic lyrics: "Only baby, since I've been loving yous, yeah/ I'm about to lose my worried mind/ Oh, yeah"

Rationale: Man, these lyrics look and so underwhelming when written down sans musical accompaniment. It's tragic.

What makes this vocal so romantic, to me, is the organ and bass work by John Paul Jones pair with Robert Plant's searing vocals. It's a power blues song that hits you right in the gut. If drastic desire were a sound, this would be information technology.

"You Got Me" - Erykah Badu and The Roots

Most romantic lines: "If you don't worry 'bout where/ I been or who I saw  or/ What club I went to with my homies/ Babe, don't worry, you know that you lot got me"

Rationale: I cried when I saw this live. Erykah reassures her young man during the chorus that she'll always be loyal to him, while Blackness Thought (lead MC of The Roots) uses his verses to tell the story of a lifelong romance. Information technology's the best love song in hip hop, hands downward.

"(Yous Brand Me Feel Similar) A Natural Woman - Aretha Franklin

Nigh romantic lyrics: "When my soul was in the lost and found/ You came along to claim it/ I didn't know simply what was wrong with me/ 'Til your kiss helped me name it"

Rationale: Nosotros should heal ourselves rather than wait around for someone to heal us, just that doesn't mean that dear can't be a healing experience. It's really romantic to thank someone for making y'all experience adept, and that's precisely what this song (written by the flawless Carole King) is about.

"Jade" - Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros

Near romantic lyrics: "We can't help just follow, she's Buddha, simply watch her/ She moves like an one-time gypsy woman simply swears she's a girl/ And all that she asks nosotros'll permit her/ For Jade is the daughter of the hr"

Rationale: Alex Ebert wrote this vocal for Jade Castrinos when they were both still dating and still the frontpeople of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. The vocal is a tranquility dearest letter to Castrinos―you could imagine Ebert singing it to her at dark past the bivouac while the remainder of the band is asleep (that's this band's vibe, actually). Information technology'southward a shame that we no longer become to spotter the sweetness relationship between these talented musicians, but at least we'll always have this hippie love song.

"Wild Horses" - The Rolling Stones

Almost romantic lyrics: "Graceless lady/ You know who I am/ Yous know I can't let y'all/ Slide through my hands/ Wild horses/ Couldn't drag me away"

Rationale: One of the wildest bands of the '60s and '70s also happened to write ane of the most poignant songs about love and devotion. This is virtually a long, deep intimacy between two people, and of being physically unable to resist the person yous adore.

"Jim Bogart" - The Front Bottoms

Most romantic lyrics: "I would sleep better on your floor/ Than I would always in my bed/ And if your carpet makes my face itch/ Information technology'd all the same exist heaven in my caput"

Rationale: "Jim Bogart" opens with the above lyrics, sung with lead singer Brian Sella's signature raw vocals. He abandons all pride in his love for this daughter, promising to practice his guitar every night, to sleep on her floor without complaint, and to to ignore his md's advice―all to win her beloved. We shouldn't have to debase ourselves for love (*rolls eyes* yeah, yes yeah), but this is art. And if we're beingness honest, this sentiment is relatable for anyone who'due south prayed for their love to be reciprocated.

"Loving You lot" - Elvis Presley

Most romantic lyrics: "If I'm seen with someone new/ Don't be blue, don't you be blue/ I'll exist faithful, I'll exist truthful/ Ever true, true to you"

Rationale: Elvis tells his love non to get jealous or to believe the hype around him and other women, reassuring her that she's the one for him. Although multiple sources have claimed that Elvis did, indeed, cheat on his wife, Priscilla, this remains his sweetest beloved song.

"Melissa" - The Allman Brothers Band

Most romantic lyrics: "Knowing many, loving none/ Bearin' sorrow, havin' fun/ But back home he'll always run/ To sweet Melissa"

Rationale: Here, the Allman Brothers sing virtually a traveling musician who can't get over his sweetheart no matter how many other women he meets. She e'er ends up resurfacing in his mind, and eventually, he always returns to her.

"My Sometime Man" - Joni Mitchell

Nigh romantic lyrics: "He'southward my sunshine in the morning time/ He's my fireworks at the end of the day/ He's the warmest chord I e'er head/ Play that warm chord, play and stay, baby"

Rationale: Mitchell'southward soaring mezzo-soprano meanders through a portrait of her relationship in this song, insisting throughout that, "We don't demand no piece of paper from the city hall." She'southward proverb that she doesn't need external validation of the relationship―this man gives her all she needs to feel secure in their bond.

"Devil In a New Dress" - Kanye West, Rick Ross

Most romantic lyrics: "Put your hands to the constellations/ The manner you look should be a sin, you my sensation"

Rationale: Kanye W is a pretty polarizing figure, but this is still one of my favorite albums of all fourth dimension. It's a bittersweet tribute to his infamous relationship with Amber Rose, and this song encapsulates the often-sexy, ever-complicated connection between two people who aren't good for each other, yet tin't stay abroad from one some other.

"Dearest of My Life (An Ode to Hip Hop)" - Erykah Badu, Common

Most romantic lyrics: "Only that is all behind me/ 'Cause now there is no other/ My dearest is his and his is mine/ A friend became the/ Love of my life"

Rationale: Conventional communication tells us to fall in beloved with someone who can be our  friend, too. This song is about ii lifelong best friends who notice their way dorsum to each other after time spent apart. With her famously beguiling vox, Erykah Badu captures the joy of being truly known by ane's partner.

"A Sunday Kind of Love" - Etta James

Most romantic lyrics: "I want a Lord's day kind of love/ A dearest to last past Saturday nighttime/ I want to know it's more than beloved at offset sight"

Rationale: We've all been at this point before. If Etta James were to take written this song today, she would take been explaining that she was sick of 1-night-stands and Tinder/Bumble/Hinge dates that go nowhere. She'd be maxim she was tired of sweaty strangers in bars shouting into her ear, over deafening music, asking if she wants to take a shot.

Instead, she'd want something substantial. Someone to relax and binge Schitt's Creek reruns with on the weekends.

May we all find that Sun kind love.

"Baby I'm Yours" - Chill Monkeys

About romantic lyrics: "Babe, I'm yours/ And I'll be yours until the stars fall from the sky/ Yours until the rivers all run dry out/ In other words, until I die"

Rationale: This song sounds like it was written in the '50s or '60s. In some ways, it's your run-of-the-manufactory slow song, but there's something charming nigh the Chill Monkeys being the ones to perform this retro pledge of devotion.

"She Will Be Loved" - Maroon 5

Virtually romantic lyrics:"I don't mind spendin' everyday / Out on your corner in the pourin' rain"

Rationale:I call up listening to this song in heart school, wishing that the male child I had a beat on would dearest me enough to stand exterior my window in the rain. In hindsight, that would have been awkward and inconvenient to explain to my mother, and these days I would probably find such behavior creepy (when I'm in my pajamas in my apartment, peacefully eating Takis and watching The Sopranos, the last matter I need is a man standing exterior, watching me from the street like something out of The Exorcist), but the sentiment of this song still stands.

"Because the Night" - Patti Smith

Most romantic lyrics: "Come on, now, try and understand/ The way I feel when I'm in your easily/ Take my hand, come secret/ They tin't hurt you now"

Rationale: In this song, which was originally written by lyrical legend Bruce Springsteen, Smith promises her lover that he's prophylactic with her. If you've read Smith's book Just Kids, yous'll probably mind to this song and think of her and Robert Mapplethorpe singing and dancing to it downwards the streets of lower Manhattan.

"La Vie En Rose" - Edith Piaf

Virtually romantic lyrics: "When he holds me in his arms/ And he speaks to me softly/ I see the earth through rose-colored glasses" (Translated from French)

Rationale: Y'all definitely know this song. It's the go-to for every romantic scene in every American picture show about France. And, granted, it's a dandy choice for a dinner date, especially if you desire to go a piddling tiresome dancing started.

"Someday" - The Growlers

Nearly romantic lyrics: "Only stay for one more night/ One twenty-four hour period yous're gonna be my wife/ You'll never take to worry again/ I'm gonna be your man"

Rationale: Information technology sounds pb singer Brooks Nielsen'southward now-wife was getting really sick of his bullshit, and that he wrote this song equally a plea to get her to say. It's poetic, energetic, and hopeful, and it would have worked on me, likewise, tbh.

"Wouldn't It Be Nice" - The Beach Boys

Most romantic lyrics: "Wouldn't it be nice if nosotros were older?/ So we wouldn't have to look then long"

Rationale: This is sung from the perspective of someone who'southward already certain about who he wants to spend the residue of his life with. And he'south wishing that the residuum of his life could commencement right at present.

"Stay" - Rihanna, Mikky Ekko

Nigh romantic lyrics: "Not really certain how to experience about it/ Somethin' in the way you move/ Makes me feel similar I tin can't live without you"

Rationale: Dear isn't a formula. There'southward no real logic to why we fall in honey with some people but not others, and Rihanna hits the nail on the head when she says it's merely "something in the way [he] move[southward]." It'due south reminiscent of The Beatles' vocal "Something." Speaking of which...

"Something" - The Beatles

Most romantic lyrics: "Something in the mode she moves / Attracts me similar no other lover / Something in the manner she woos me / I don't want to get out her now"

Rationale:This vocal is a slow, dreamy ode on an otherwise bluesy anthology. George Harrison was the Beatle who penned information technology, writing that he wasn't sure what exactly triggered his beloved or whether it would grow.  All he knew was that the beloved was there, and that that should exist plenty.

"Androgynous" - The Replacements

Most romantic lyrics: "And they beloved each other so/ Androgynous/ Closer than we know, love each other so/ Androgynous"

Rationale: This song is virtually 2 non-binary people falling in dearest, which is pretty cool for a song from 1984. Our main characters, archetypically named Dick and Jane, honey each other regardless of gender. The Replacements brand a compelling argument about why traditional gender roles and wear should make no divergence if you're truly in dearest with someone.

"I'll Be Seeing You" - Billie Vacation

Most romantic lyrics: "I'll find yous in the morning sun/ In every lovely summer'southward day/ In everything that's right and gay/ I'll always retrieve of you"

Rationale: You know when you're freshly in honey (or heartbroken), and everything reminds you of that person? That'southward what this song is about. Everything effectually Holiday―the natural world, a park, a buffet, a carousel―is a fond reminder of her beloved.

"Dominicus Candy" - Donnie Trumpet & The Social Experiment

Nearly romantic lyrics: "Yous've got to move it slowly/ Take it in my body like it's holy/ I've been waiting for yous for the whole week/ I've been praying for you lot, you're my Dominicus candy"

Rationale: The Social Experiment is the hip hop collective that boasts members such as Run a risk the Rapper and Vic Mensa (the old of which is featured heavily on this song). Jamila Wood performs the chorus to this song so sweetly that it'due south easy to forget the sexual implications, and she and Chance tell the story of a couple that spends a week at a fourth dimension missing each other, absorbed in thoughts of one another until they're finally reunited.

"Come up As You Are" - Nirvana

Nigh romantic lyrics: "Come every bit you lot are/ As y'all were/ As I want you to exist"

Rationale: In that location are many interpretations of what this song means, ranging from mental health to friendship to commentary on inauthenticity. But, to me, "Come up As You Are" works as the ultimate grunge love song; equally a promise to honey and capeesh someone only the way they are.

"Please, Please, Please" - James Brownish

Most romantic lyrics: "Infant please, babe please, please me/ Babe please, baby please don't get/ Don't get, I said baby, don't baby/ I love you and then"

Rationale: This song is almost entirely comprised of James Brown repeating "delight," and, supposedly, he got a lot of flack from his producers about that before its release. Simply, like the Yeah Yes Yeahs' "Maps," this rail's magic lies in the passion with which information technology's delivered–and James Brown is nothing if not passionate.

"I Will E'er Dearest You" - Dolly Parton

Almost romantic lyrics: "And I hope life will treat you kind/ And I hope that you have all/ That you e'er dreamed of/ Oh, I practise wish you lot joy/ And I wish yous happiness/ But above all this/ I wish you love"

Rationale: Without a dubiousness, y'all're familiar with Whitney Houston's rendition of "I Will Always Dear You," but I honey Dolly Parton's soft-spoken, country version equally well. Where Houston belts, Parton croons, making this a great alternative for when you lot want to hear this song on a quiet evening in.

 "Songbird" - Fleetwood Mac

Most romantic lyrics: "And I wish you all the love in the world/ Merely most of all, I wish information technology from myself/ And the songbirds keep singing/ Similar they know the score"

Rationale: Fleetwood Mac's members were notorious for hooking upwardly within their ranks, and Christine McVie (author and chief vocalist on this song) was no exception. This is a unique love vocal, because information technology does unconditional beloved unlike any other: It illustrates how it'due south entirely possible to love someone and want the best for them while accepting, albeit sadly, that you lot might non be that best thing.

"Commencement Solar day of My Life" - Brilliant Eyes

About romantic lyrics: "But I realized I need you/ And I wondered if I could come up home"

Rationale: This Bright Eyes track makes me wish I was ameliorate at playing guitar. Frontman Conor Oberst makes a frank plea for his beloved, telling her, "I'g glad I didn't die before I met you," and asking for permission to approach. It'due south an exercise in startling honesty, and the result, like the whole anthology, is profound.

"Sea of Beloved" - Cat Ability

Nearly romantic lyrics: "Come with me, my love/ To the ocean, the body of water of dear/ I wanna tell you/ How much I love y'all "

Rationale: Originally, the last song on this list was going to exist T.I.'s "Whatever You lot Like" because I'k determined that it will play at my wedding ceremony one day (I'm not kidding), simply "Sea of Love" is besides romantic to laissez passer up. With minimal instrumentation, True cat Power delivers a cursory just heartfelt honey alphabetic character whose genius lies in its profound simplicity. 10/10.
